Aquamatic Ionic Pool

Committed to your long term health, the environment and the world tomorrow, Risebridge Health Club has undertaken a review of its environmental policies, and implemented the installation of a new fresh water treatment for the pool.

New Aquamatic Ionic Pool

The aquamatic ionic systems use copper and silver ions to destroy bacteria and algae and the addition of Aquabrite, a non chlorine oxidiser helps break down other contaminates in the pool water. As it is oxygen based the by-products are mostly oxygen, so no harmful chloramines or THMs are produced. It will not break down in sunlight or fade costumes and is environmentally friendly.

Aquabrite is used as a drinking water conditioner in many countries. It is so mild that it is widely used for baby swims, asthmatic swimming pools, eczema sufferers and for people allergic to chlorine.

Why not chlorine

Chlorine is widely used in swimming pools due to its easy administration, despite the fact that it consumes massive amounts of energy in its creation, and is highly toxic and poisonous. It has recently been linked to childhood asthma, skin allergy and the break down of the ozone layer. It naturally breaks down in ultraviolet light. Chlorine uses more energy in its production than glass and cement, and it consumes power equivalent to the manufacture of iron and steel as it is created using electricity.

The by-products found in swimming pool chloramines and THMs are known to damage lung tissues, pool plant surrounds and equipment. They also give you stingy red eyes. It will not kill organisms found in your pool and a combination of products are required to keep your swimming water free from contamination. Chlorine also has a bleaching effect on clothing and pool equipment.
